Developing a Strategic Plan for Building a School-Wide Team Using the 10-Step Plans

Course Description:

Get Focused Stay Focused! The award-winning Get Focused...Stay Focused!® Program developed at Santa Barbara City College and the Freshman Transition Initiative developed at The George Washington University are foundational to this eCourse. These grade 9-14 models are scalable, cost-efficient programs that promote high school graduation, post-secondary completion, and successful entry into the workforce through comprehensive guidance in the classroom. Unique to the educational reform movement, this comprehensive guidance process, starting in the freshman year, ensures that students will graduate with a carefully-considered career path, an informed major or program of study, a post-secondary institution or training program that not only matches their career and life goals but is affordable, and a Skills-Based Education Plan that facilitates successful entry into a highly competitive workforce. Upon completion of this eCourse, participants will develop their own unique plan for their school or district with the knowledge and skills to implement this progressive program in their districts and regions.

Instructor: Rudy Ramirez – Principal of Indio High School, CA  (1992-2016)
